Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – The JB Foundation has successfully concluded its "Cine Móvil 2024" summer program, which began in July and ended with its final screening on Saturday, August 17th. This project, focused on promoting values and healthy recreation, was aimed at the children of the Santo Tomás de Aquino community in the Los Tres Brazos sector.
Summer vacations are a time for children to rest while also acquiring new knowledge and strengthening their social, cultural, and community skills. With this in mind, the JB Foundation designed a schedule where children could choose a day to enjoy a pre-selected movie that highlighted various values. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to watch an animated documentary from the Miraculous series, specifically the episode "Action," which teaches children to be agents of change in reducing plastic use.
Egal De Los Santos, Director of Social Programs at JB Foundation, emphasized the importance of initiatives like this for educating and raising awareness among the younger generation. "During the screenings, we invited the children to bring plastic bottle caps, which will be exchanged for chemotherapy sessions for other children with cancer. Through Cine Móvil, we have managed to combine several causes and raise awareness among each participant," De Los Santos stated.
The "Cine Móvil" program not only provided entertainment but also promoted social and environmental awareness, encouraging the children’s commitment to their community. The JB Foundation reaffirms its commitment to continue working for the well-being and integral development of children in vulnerable situations.
